Hyaluronic Acid is naturally made in the body, retaining the skins hydration and fullness; the main purpose is to keep water inside the tissue. The natural HA made in the body only has an expectancy of 2-4 days. As we age that rejuvenates slower and disintegrates even faster. Making the skin less plump and leaving wrinkles or "cracks". Dietary habits, skin regimens and sun exposure all play a factor as well. That is why some may look into high purity fillers.
Here at Too Lashed we use Hyaluronic Acid cross linked with Lidocaine and the Hyaluron Pen. The Hyaluron Pen uses air pressure to turn HA into nano scale molecules to be able to penetrate into the epidermis. This has an expectancy of 2-4 months.
Since there is no needle, it does not penetrate the dermis or last as long as needle injections. The body will still break down the HA through natural degradation, thus needing touch ups. Which may help the filler last anywhere between 6-12 months. This is still a great alternative to needle injections, price and pain wise.
Although the hyaluron pen is a needless injection, a release form still needs to be signed. Save time and sign consent forms before your appointment!

Know that swelling or bumps after your appointment is completely normal and not the true reflection of your results. You may briefly apply ice to the area to help with swelling or gently massage the lips with ointment to help with bumps. Once swelling has subsided and lips are healed a touch up is recommended to reach the desired look.
Know that water is your best friend! Before and after your appointment. It is the key to helping your filler last longer. Fresh fruits, veggies, vitamins and minerals all help with the healing process. Avoid spicy and salty foods as it may irritate the lips. Don't forget to moisturize!
If you must touch your lips be sure that hands are clean and free of germs. Avoid excessive heat, working out, smoking, makeup, exfoliating and oral sex. Do not take blood thinners or pain killers unless prescribed by a doctor.
